City, County, and State Updates: |
Montgomery County Looks to Reinstates Some COVID-19 Restrictions County Executive Marc Elrich is asking the Montgomery County Council to approve an executive order that will reinstate some Covid restrictions. Elrich considers the increase in cases a trend rather than a “blip.” Cases per 100k people are now up to 13 after being at 10.6 just two weeks ago. The following proposed restrictions are expected to be voted on next week by the County Council: • Restaurant capacity will be reduced to 25%. This goes for gyms/fitness facilities, retail stores, museums, and religious facilities. • Gatherings can no longer exceed 25 people. • Childcare facilities will remain at Phase 2 levels. • Late night alcohol sales (previously allowed from 10pm to midnight) will be suspended.
