King Farm Seeks Resident Input On Community Survey |
The King Farm Citizens Assembly (KFCA) is excited to announce a community survey for owners and renters in King Farm, as well as others who patronize businesses within the community. This survey will be used to help the KFCA Board of Trustees gauge how the community is meeting the expectations of its residents and the data collected will be used to determine areas for possible improvement. The survey is anonymous. However, responders can provide their contact information if they are interested in volunteering for one of the King Farm committees. Interested volunteers can also submit their information directly to the Management Office at [email protected]. The goal is to publish the results of the survey in a future issue of the King Farm Chronicle and use the results of this year’s survey as a baseline for the coming years. The link to the survey is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MLPLZQ9 or you can use your smartphone camera to access the survey using the QR code which will to take you directly to the survey. The survey will close at 11:59 p.m. on October 31st, 2020. Thank you in advance for your participation in helping shape the future of the community. |

Halloween 2020 – To Trick-or-Treat or Not To Trick-or-Treat? That Is The Question… |
Management continues to get questions regarding the status of trick-or-treating this year. King Farm Citizens Assembly (KFCA) does not have the authority to regulate traditional trick-or-treating. Due to the popularity of KFCA Halloween events in years past, KFCA has decided not to host a Halloween event for the community this year to help reduce the transmission of COVID-19. This decision is based on CDC guidance/recommendations. However, KFCA may elect to do a virtual event. Management will post an announcement on the King Farm website (www.kingfarm.org) and send an announcement in the Management weekly email by October 16th if a virtual Halloween event will occur. Please use the following link to review the CDC guidelines about Holiday Celebrations: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/holidays.html. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding while everyone adjusts to these extraordinary times. |

King Farm Neighbors Village News |
The first October activity for the King Farm Neighbors Village (KFNV) was the Thursday, October 8th Book Club discussion via Zoom of Anthony’s Doerr’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, All the Light We Cannot See. During the discussion, the nine participants engaged in thinking about the various themes in the book, the beautiful descriptive writing, and the well-drawn characters. Next month’s Book Club choice is Educated by Tara Westover. Looking forward to the rest of October, the KFNV has the following virtual events scheduled: 1. Coffee and Conversation at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 14th where the topic will be your favorite fall activity or place to visit in the fall. Participants are welcome to show related mementos; and 2. A presentation on medical marijuana by Dr. Matthew Mintz on Thursday, October 22nd at 7:00 pm. The KFNV invites both members and non-members to participate in this informative discussion. **KFNV requests that those interested in attending please RSVP by Thursday, October 15th. In addition, as part of KFNV’s outreach during this General Election season, KFNV is offering two services to its members. Specifically, KFNV has collected hard copies of the voting guides from the League of Women Voters. The KFNV will arrange delivery either to your home or to a convenient and safe location for you to pick up a guide. In addition, the KFNV is offering to deliver members’ completed mail-in ballots to voting Drop Boxes. We invite all community members to join the KFNV and participate in our monthly events. Membership is free; however, we accept donations that help defray the cost of events and services. For information on how to become a KFNV member, to make a contribution, to register for any of the above events, to request the voting Drop Box delivery service or a voting guide, please contact the Member Coordinators at [email protected], leave a voicemail at (301) 799-8104, or view the KFNV website at www.kfnv.org.
